How we have helped
A Supermarket Chain Automated Store Roll Out
A national supermarket chain recently engaged n3k to write scripts to automate the IP address
assignments for the rollout of new stores and petrol outlets. This work has saved hundreds of
hours that would have otherwise been required by the existing manual process. In addition the cost
of failures due to human error has been eradicated. It is estimated that the return on investment
in these consulting services has been ten fold in the first year.
A Major Airline to Move Head Office Over a Weekend
When a major airline was faced with the challenge of moving its head offices over one weekend with minimal disruption
to its IT services it turned to us for assistance. In consultation with our specialists a plan was devised to implement
DHCP and DNS services to make this sizable migration possible in the timescales available. The move was an outstanding
success and the design implemented continues to provide excellent service and maximum flexibility.
Our services enabled this business to meet its objectives without loss of revenue due to downtime.
A Network Consolidation Following Acquisitions
One enterprise customer was faced with consolidating its Data Centres and Wide Area Networks following
acquisition of a number of other companies. This was particularly challenging since there was conflicting use
of address space between the separate networks. Our consultants were able to offer a pragmatic approach to
solving these issues that minimised the associated cost of change and also observed industry best practice.
We were able to facilitate the core business objectives to consolidate previously autonomous networks and
enable massive cost savings as a result.
Hands On Project Management for a Telecommunications Company
With a huge international rollout to achieve in tight timescales n3k were asked to assist.
We were involved from the initial policy discussions and helped to write the corporate IP
standards, establish business processes and implement the agreed solution. The ongoing project
and operational management of the system during the initial two years was led and managed by n3k
staff with a gradual handover of skills to permanent staff. This customer, with our help,
was able to rationalise the previous islands of automation and establish corporate standards for
management of their IP environment, enhancing security as a direct result and saving incalculable
amounts in operational efficiency and avoidance of technical failure.
